Chassidy Wells is a Durham native who works for The North Carolina Child Treatment Program (NC CTP), a collaborative initiative within the Durham-based Center for Child and Family Health. The NC CTP implements and supports an evidence-based child trauma treatment model, and Chassidy serves as a Project Assistant/ Learning Collaborative specialist.
She is happily married to her high school sweetheart and is the mother of two girls, ages 10 and 11. Chassidy also holds a natural hair care license and works at Remedy Salon & Spa on the weekends. She makes custom wigs and is working on launching her own business in the cosmetology industry. With so many professional endeavors, she still finds time to pursue her hobbies of cooking, dining at new restaurants, bargain shopping, reading and traveling. To her friends, she is known as a good listener who is always willing to give advice and help people overcome obstacles.
Chassidy has worked with InStepp since February 2015 writing blog posts for the website—an activity that allows her to share information and resources available through NC CTP with the women and families of InStepp. She takes inspiration from InStepp clients who manage to stay authentic and true to themselves, despite the many demands on them and the many hats they must wear. She advises future volunteers to “love what you do and always be open to opportunities and experiences that can enhance your life for the better.”
As an entrepreneur about to launch a business, Chassidy hopes her new venture, a beauty industry consulting firm that will provide training, resources, and advice to those interested in entering the industry, will be able to serve some of the InStepp clientele.
