Adrienne Hanna was born in Manhattan, NY, grew up in Durham, and recently returned to the Durham area after living in Buffalo, NY. She works at Time Warner Cable while pursuing a degree in communications, marketing and sales at the University of Phoenix.
Adrienne married the love of her life on October 10, and besides spending time with her new husband, teenage son and 12-year-old daughter, she enjoys singing and working on puzzles. She became an InStepp volunteer in April 2015 and works in the office answering phones, filing and assisting the office staff with any tasks that need to be done.
InStepp is Adrienne’s first volunteer experience, and she was drawn to the organization because of its mission of helping women in need. “I know what it feels like to need a little help or guidance when trying to raise children on your own,” she says.
Adrienne enjoys seeing women return to the office to tell the staff about their successes after completing InStepp programs. She says that working at InStepp has reaffirmed her belief that organizations that truly want to help people can make a difference and help women build better lives for themselves and their families. She advises others considering becoming a volunteer to take the plunge, have fun, and to take pride in knowing that you are doing something positive for your community.
