Keri Johnson grew up in Atlanta, GA, and now lives in Durham, NC with her partner, Rob, two dogs, Lefty and Broderick and their chickens, which are named after the Golden Girls. She graduated with a BA in Classical Culture from the University of Georgia and currently works as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter for the North Carolina Rate Bureau. In her spare time, Keri enjoys reading, cooking, taking walks and going out with friends when she is not hanging out with her family. Keri’s friends describe her as hard working, intuitive, compassionate and creative or “Fabulous”, in short.
Keri’s path crossed with InStepp when she started volunteering in March, 2016 thanks to her longtime friend Sybil Bowick, who shares Keri’s passion for Community Service. Keri currently serves on the Board of Directors for InStepp and supports all the programming the organization provides. Her motivation is to serve and uplift women in need. Working with InStepp has enriched her because of her exposure to people from different cultures and backgrounds. Other causes Keri supports includes the American Cancer Society and the Southern Hope Humane Society. She has also volunteered through the Eastern NC chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. Keri’s message to individuals who are considering giving back to the community is simple. “Let your passion lead you!”
