Beginning January 2021, InStepp will host a bi-monthly virtual workshop on the immigration relief that is available to immigrant victims of crimes and the importance of working with law enforcement. Many undocumented immigrants are fearful of being identified as a victim of a crime in part because they believe they will be removed or deported from the United States if they report the crime. However, there are several protections available to both for legal and undocumented immigrants who have been victims of a crime. This virtual workshop will explore these specific protections for victims of domestic violence, victims of human trafficking and victims of certain other crimes. The next workshop will be held on Friday, March 26th, at noon.
