Aliece Inman began her career in the legal field in 2005 working as an intern with DVC Legal Services. It was through interactions there that she set out to build her professional network, working closely with individuals who had experienced a variety of setbacks by life’s circumstances.
After working with DVC Legal Services for nearly two years, Aliece went on to graduate magna cum laude in 2007 from NC Central University with her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a focus in Journalism and a minor in Political Science. She spent two more years working as a paralegal before applying and being accepted to NC Central University School of Law.
While attending the evening program at NCCU School of Law, Aliece worked alongside the Public Interest Law Organization, and served as a Representative for the Student Board Association for the Evening Section, and Evening Program Class Representative. Additionally, she worked full time for three years, and finished out her fourth year as a student attorney with the Family Law Clinic in conjunction with Legal Aid of North Carolina. Aliece graduated with the Spes Bona Award for the 2013 Evening Class of NCCU School of Law. This award signified having the most improved grade point average from the inception to the completion of her law school career.
Going into the work field equipped with a Juris Doctorate and opting out of sitting for a bar examination to become a licensed attorney proved to be a welcome challenge. Aliece continued to secure additional experience working in the legal field and the financial sector, building a solid understanding of bankruptcy law. Aliece found herself providing guidance to individuals who faced challenges similar to those of the individuals she had encountered in previous roles throughout her career, working with DVC Legal Services, as a personal injury paralegal, and as a student attorney for the NCCU Family Law Clinic alongside Legal Aid.
Although not working in a professional setting to assist individuals facing domestic disputes, financial challenges, or family dynamic challenges, Aliece continued to provide support where she was sought out in her personal capacity. Each role she served in has been critical in creating a trajectory for a mission in service. Aliece continues to assist women who are victims of domestic abuse, individuals who are facing financial difficulties related to domestic abuse, and children who are impacted by any of these difficult circumstances.
