V. Gabriela (Gabby) Zapata is a Bilingual Case Manager at InStepp Inc. where she provides education and support for the Nueva Vida program.
Gabby was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She graduated from the Central American Technological University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in 2012 in Tegucigalpa Honduras. After graduation she moved to New York where she received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Information Technology.
Gabby worked at RTI international and participated in the data collection of an important research study that collects the most current and comprehensive national- and state-level data on intimate partner violence, sexual violence and stalking victimization in the United States. She also provided case management for the Rebuild NC Housing Recovery program to low income individuals affected by Hurricane Mathew in 2016.
Gabby uses her background, experience and education to help others. As a Bilingual Case Manager, she advises and guides Spanish or limited English speaking clients to employment through career counseling, employment preparation and training, job development, and job placement.
