Gilda Pettiford Womble serves as the CEO/Managing Director of InStepp Inc. Gilda is a graduate of the Duke University Intensive Tract Nonprofit Management Program and is a Department of Justice (DOJ) partially accredited immigration legal representative.
Gilda has more than 20 years of project and staff management experience obtained from her prior career as an executive manager for a major Fortune 500 company. Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, she worked first as a Biostatistician and later as Director of Statistics and Programming, Biomedical Data Sciences for the US Neurosciences Medical Development Center at GlaxoSmithKline and its legacy companies in the Research Triangle Park. She has a BA in Mathematics and MSPH in Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She served on the Durham County Women’s Commission from December 2012 to June 2016 and the Durham County Criminal Justice Advisory Board from 2012 to 2016.
