King Solomon said that there is a season for everything. A season of love, pain, joy, sorrow. A time to sow and a time to reap. A time to work and a time to rest.
Which season are you in? A season of loss, pain, loneliness? Have hope and be encouraged! Life is full of uncomfortable and daunting transitions that we must learn to deal with. Take this time to heal, to grow in wisdom, patience, strength, and character.
As humans we were made to survive and adapt. But know that you are not alone. Lean on friends and family during this time. It’s ok to ask for a shoulder to cry on or help to get through difficult situations.
When my daughter, Jessica, graduated and went on to begin her life as a young adult, it was a bittersweet experience. The first two years she was away, I was saddened and my heart ached. Empty-nest syndrome is a real thing! Who knew!?
But as I was adapting to my new lifestyle, I began to get excited. I realized that I had a whole new chapter of my life to experience! And those pages were blank, ready to be filled with whatever I wanted! Wow, how awesome is that?!
I started doing new and fun activities, making new friends, and taking the time to enjoy new experiences that I wasn’t able to as a single mom. Life was beginning to look good!
So going through the tough stuff sometimes, a lot of times, leads us to something pretty amazing. So hang in there, have hope, and began to write the chapters of your new story!
