Paula, a hard working immigrant from Mexico with an 8th grade education and six children under the age of 18, was 33 years old when she was referred to Nueva Vida by a local domestic violence shelter. Paula and her children had left her abuser, escaping with nothing. She immediately received the help and support she needed from InStepp to get back on her feet. In the years since graduating from the program, Paula has worked and supported herself and her children with great success.
