InStepp’s International Women’s Day Conference creates a space where immigrant women and other community members can come together to share experiences and agencies working with them can network and share information. Registration and networking for this free event will start at 9:00.

Dr. Regina George Bowden is a self-described activist, community leader, educator, and mother. She attended Durham Public Schools System and later served as Co-Chair of the Durham Public School Board for eight years. Dr. Bowden earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Tennessee State University, a Master’s Degree in Sociology at North Carolina Central University in Durham and a second Master’s Degree in Education Administration from N.C. A&T State University in Greensboro. Afterwards, Dr. Bowden matriculated at North Carolina State University where she earned a Doctorate in Education, with a minor in Social Stratification from Duke University in Durham. Her post doctorate work continued at the University of Ghana, Africa with a concentration in Education Economics and Sociology.
Dr. Bowden’s extensive career in education began as a teacher at N.C. A&T State University. After leaving NC A&T, she held various positions at universities around the world. Dr. Bowden has numerous published articles to accompany her list of achievements. Currently, she is Co-Chair for the Culture Committee for the Durham Business and Professional Chain
Flavi Huff is a wife, a mother of three, an accomplished photographer and an entrepreneur. She is also a survivor; of domestic violence and of a harrowing, at times terrifying, to the journey to what is now her home, the United States. Born and raised in Brazil, Flavi moved to America in 2005 where she started her new life here as a nanny, in Florida. After meeting her husband and starting a family, Flavi taught herself photography and built her dream business that is thriving today. Her most prized possessions are her memories of loved ones, yet she has very few photographs from her childhood. So, she has made it her mission to help families celebrate life’s milestones and capture memories they will cherish forever.
Yvonne Victor is a Certified Life and Business Coach who is dedicated to helping professional women create a balanced, sustainable and fulfilling life. She’s worked for more than 30 years in Corporate Administration and is a trained Peacekeeper and Community Advocate. In 2019, she launched her own coaching practice, as her “second act” and now coaches others to move past blocks and create the life of their dreams. Yvonne is an engaging speaker who weaves humor and storytelling into her delivery to motivate and inspire her audience. She is the wife of one, mother of two, Road Tripper Extraordinaire and Foodie, currently living a very beautiful life.
We are soliciting for-profit and non-profit businesses to vendor at this year’s conference. Please click here to access our 2020 IWD Vendor Application Form. This form can be completed online and emailed back to us at iwd@instepp.org. You must download the form to complete it and save the data you type into the form prior to e-mailing the form back to us.
The deadline for submitting payment for your vendor space is Friday, February 28, 2020. If payment is not received by this date, you will be removed from the vendor list. Space is limited so make your vendor payment early to reserve your spot today.
