The 4th annual International Women’s Day Conference was held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Durham Armory Convention Center. Our conference theme this year was Equal Access to Housing for Immigrants and Refugees – Rights and Responsibilities.
IWD creates a space where immigrant women and other community members can come together to share experiences, and agencies working with them can network and share information.
Event Information
Our 2015 International Women’s Day Conference included presentations from the City of Durham, the Durham Housing Authority and the Latino Credit Union. USCIS was also on hand to talk about current issues related to immigration and naturalization.

Professional Experience: 2004 to present: anchor/reporter, WRAL-TV; 1998 to 2004: anchor/reporter, KCRG-TV, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 1997-1998: general assignment reporter, KOMU-TV, Columbia, Mo. Awards & Recognition: Renee’s coverage of Hurricane Sandy along the Outer Banks earned her a Regional Emmy for Weekend Newscast and “Best Weather Reporting” from the NC Associated Press Broadcast Awards. She also won a Regional Emmy for News Special in 2013, covering the Kathy Taft murder trial. Her stories have garnered awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas, Iowa Associated Press Broadcasters Association and Missouri Broadcasters Association.
