GLA is a free, gender-specific, after school program designed specifically to eliminate or minimize academic underachievement, poor school attendance, negative peer relationships, and risky behaviors (i.e., substance abuse, unsafe sexual behavior, self harm, aggression or violence) in middle school girls exiting the 6th grade.
GLA uses an evidence-based, 12-week curriculum of self discovery and empowerment designed specifically for adolescent girls to develop the knowledge, skills and experiences that promote health and resiliency. In addition to completion of the self empowerment curriculum, each GLA participant will be required to complete at least one weekend community service project.
