InStepp Ambassador Activities Many Ways to Contribute
|
As we grow our organization, new volunteer opportunities are constantly surfacing. Here are ways that you can become an InStepp Ambassador. We make it easy for you by providing volunteer training, prior to your start date. Please check out our Calendar of Events for these workshops. If you are interested in contributing your energy and talents to our important cause, please complete our Volunteer Application Form and return it to us at volunteer@instepp.org.

Life Guide/Mentor to Justice-Involved Women Adult life guides or mentors to justice-involved women provide friendship, support and inspiration to women who are making the transition from incarceration to an independent lifestyle. Life Guides will be expected to work as a part of a team to help the women enrolled into our Employment Reentry Assistance (ERA) Program for Women reenter society with as strong a foundation as possible. At least a four month pre-release and a minimum eight month post-release commitment to a female inmate is needed which will include both face-to-face and telephone contact. Life Guide/Mentor to Female Survivors of Domestic Violence Adult life guides or mentors to female survivors of domestic violoence provide friendship, support and inspiration to female survivors of domestic violence. Life Guides will be expected to provide friendship, support and inspiration to the women enrolled in the Culturally-specific Economic Empowerment Program (CSEEP) for Survivors of Domestic Violence, to motivate and encourage them, and to assist in the development of their intangible skills such as assertiveness, self-esteem and self confidence. Volunteer Coordinator An individual is needed to take the lead in creating new opportunities for volunteers to contribute to the mission and day-to-day work of our organization, The primary responsibilities of the Volunteer Coordinator will include: consulting with the Executive Director and staff to determine organizational needs for various volunteer services; creating volunteer job descriptions; recruiting individuals to support various volunteer opportunities; and scheduling and coordinating volunteer appreciation and recognition events.
Outreach Volunteer The Outreach Volunteer communicates with professional and community agencies in order to promote the mission of our organization and extend our reach into the community. Typical duties include speaking with community and faith-based agencies in order to obtain client referrals, sharing our programs and services with potential clients and developing special outreach events and strategies to proactively engage employers.
Communications Volunteer The Communications Volunteer will be responsible for writing the profiles of volunteers; maintaining our social media sites; or assisting with the publication of our quarterly e-newsletter..
