Gilda Pettiford Womble, President/CEO and Founder gpwomble@instepp.org
Born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, Gilda received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and a MSPH graduate degree in biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Gilda has over 30 years of experience working as a statistician and manager in the pharmaceutical industry. She began working as a statistician for Burroughs Wellcome Co in 1976 and remained with the company through two mergers. At the time of her retirement from GlaxoSmithKline in December 2006, she was Director of Statistics and Programming for the Neurology Medicine Development Center.
Gilda is a graduate of the Duke University Intensive Tract Nonprofit Management Program and has completed the nationally recognized Offender Employment Specialist (OES) training curriculum offered by the National Institute of Corrections. She currently serves on the advisory board of Bogier Clinical and IT Solutions, Inc. and is a member of the Executive Steering Committee for the NC Re-entry Action Project (NC R.E.A.P.).

Martha Morales, Cultural Employment Specialist mmorales@instepp.org
Martha is a native of Bogota, Colombia where she received a Business Administration and Computer Science degree from the Corporation of Labor and Superior Education. For over four years, Martha worked in Human Resource Consulting through the Colombian Family Welfare Institute, one of many public service institutions in her country which is committed to the comprehensive protection of the family, especially children across the country. She also worked for the Office of the First Lady of the Nation where she designed, planned, implemented and oversaw special social assistant projects and welfare programs that the national government intended to develop throughout her country. As the Cultural Employment Specialist for InStepp, Martha provides economic empowerment support to Hispanic-Latino immigrant women who are either survivvors of domestic violence, unemployed or under employed..

Carlota Rojas, CSEEP Employment Counselor crojas@instepp.org
Carlota received a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the Saint Buenaventura University in Bogota, Colombia, which is also the place of her birth. She established and operated a pre-school in Bogota for twelve years where she advocated for and ensured that children had access to the support services they needed to be successful.
After moving to the United States in 2002, Carlota worked in community service assisting international students, scholars and their friends and family living in the U.S. to adjust to a new culture and build good relationships with people so that they would be safe, enjoy their time here, and learn about American culture and beliefs. She received a Master of Divinity in Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina in December 2010.
As the Employment Counselor for the Culturally-specific Economic Empowerment Program (CSEEP), Carlota will help both US born and non Hispanic immigrant female survivors of domestic violence pursue their individual economic goals by expanding their employability skills and financial knowledge and by helping them to achieve personally and professionally through ongoing counseling and mentoring support.

Jo Rene Campbell, Office Manager jcampbell@instepp.org
Jo Rene attended Hardbarger Community College in Raleigh. She has extensive experience working with attorneys, doctors, and administrators. For over five years, she owned and operated a successful tree recycling business in Creedmoor. As Office Manager, Jo Rene is responsible for the organization and coordination of office operations and procedures.

Camille’s passion for community enrichment stems back to her days in high school where she volunteered as a student teacher and tutor for elementary school students. She currently serves as the President of the Employee Volunteer Board at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, where she is responsible for determining volunteer opportunities for the company’s 4,000 employees. She has received several awards for her volunteer service, and has a reputation of being a true team player that can step to the plate at a moments notice and get the job done.
Camille has nearly 10 years experience in the fields of marketing, event management and fundraising. She currently coordinates customer programs for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. Prior to this position she was a marketing and communications specialist for the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science.

Anitra Bailey abailey@instepp.org
Anitra is originally from Taylorsville, NC and has resided in Durham NC since May 1999. She is a North Carolina A&T State University graduate, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management. In 2002, Anitra completed her Masters of Business Administration through the University of Phoenix. She has been employed by Altria Sales and Distribution as a Sales Manager since May 1999. She has volunteered with numerous organizations, and has committed to InStepp as a Board of Directors member and Secretary.

Rochelle Graham, Treasurer rgraham@instepp.org
Rochelle is currently the Chief Financial Officer at JPS Communications Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company in Raleigh. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Bentley College. Rochelle is new to the Raleigh area, by almost two years. She spent more than 25 years in the Boston area where she was very active in her church and community in helping others. One of her greatest assets is mentoring co-workers, and helping them to advance their careers while achieving their goals.

Pamela Edwards, Chair pamela_p@mindspring.com
Pamela attended Queens College in New York and majored in communication studies. While interning with the NYC Department of Correctional Services in high school, she became passionate and enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of others.
Pamela has served as a host in the Foreign Exchange Student program, helping female students from England and Belgium to experience US culture.
A resident of Durham for more than 20 years, she has been active in several community organizations such as the United Way and Durham Young Professionals. She is an ongoing volunteer with the Durham Project Homeless Connect program which is designed to eradicate homelessness in the Durham community.
Since 2006, Pamela has been employed with the American Institute of CPAs as an Accounts Receivables Analyst. She is experienced in sales, marketing and operations management. She has served on the InStepp Boar of Directors since April 2010 and is honored to accept the chair position to enhance and enrich the lives of the women we serve in the Durham community.

Amanda Ray, Secretary aray@instepp.org
Amanda is from Gastonia, North Carolina. She has lived in the Triangle area since 1994 and in Durham since August 2011. She attended North Carolina State University and the UNC Chapel Hill School of Law. She is employed as a business litigator with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC in Raleigh. Amanda has enjoyed volunteering with numerous Triangle organizations over the years, and is excited to have the opportunity to contribute to InStepp and the Durham community.

Natalie d'Aubermont Thompson
Natalie brings to InStepp, Inc. over ten years of experience in the education, government and corporate sectors. She most recently was a Team Leader at Chatham Financial Europe Ltd. in London, England. Prior to that, Natalie served as the Associate Director of the International Center and Admissions at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and as the NGO and Policy Coordination Officer at the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development. She also was a consultant in Washington, DC for the Corporate Executive Board.
Natalie has broad exposure to a number of different industries, including but not limited to corporate finance, government relations and global education. She is a sought out career coach and has spoken at conferences around the world on the topic of leadership. She holds a BA in International Relations and Spanish from Tufts University and a Masters in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is also an accredited practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®).
A truly global citizen, Natalie is Argentine-American and has worked, studied and volunteered in over 35 countries. She is passionate about social entrepreneurship and youth mentorship. She currently resides in Raleigh-Durham, NC with her husband and son.

Cynthia Cooper, SCPM, PMP
Cynthia is an HR Program Manager for Cisco System with over 20 years of experience in program management and process improvement. She is a result driven strategic thinker who excels at bringing diverse groups together to develop complex strategies for process improvements. Her passion is mentoring in areas of career and leadership development. She has extensive experience recruiting and mentoring new graduates. Cynthia received her BA in Psychology & Social Work from the University of North Alabama. She is a Stanford Certified Program Manager and PMI Certified Project Management Professional.
